Tinker
La Moulin de la Galette, Pastry Chef Renoir concocts a delicacy from another time, a Napoleon, "mille feuille", a thousand leaves, rich with the cream of humanity gathered close, layered with intimacy from a touch, an embrace, the crush of a crowd where one must lean in to converse and savor words spoken over dance music served with a dash of romance. Generations and genders plated with a master chef's hand and presented with French panache. ~~ Judi Van Gorder Notes: ▼ Original posted for National Poetry Writing Month in the Playground. I've made a couple of revisions and decided to post it in the Showcase where it is more likely to be read. April 28: poem based on a well-known painting or photograph (& provide a link to it!) JoelJosol
I love this piece for two things. I love the work of the Impressionist painters. I still remember when I got to see their work i n Boston MoMA. The second point is I love the lyrical flow, the music in the poem itself that mirrors the music in the painting. The sound of c's, a's and s's and its alliteration. 1 Quote "Words are not things, and yet they are not non-things either." - Ann Lauterbach

badger11
Muchly enjoyed too Judi. Almost nostalgic, when people shared the warmth of a crowd...all done with a dash of panache😀 best Phil This may be of interest... https://www.flyonthewallpoetry.co.uk/magazine-guidelines
tonyv
How wonderfully presented with what I love to characterize as "album art"! Make it electronic dance music, and I am there. I won't want that night to end.
