Depending on what book
he is reading as leaves 
hinted red radiate languid
insects vaporous resins
sitting on the sturdy
splintered yet abandoned 
Deer platform overlooking
fields of Dogwood Sumac
Ragweed with the occasions 
Buck Fawn Doe gunless
fully engaged in what
is written while
maintaining 

awareness of Sun’s
suspensions of Web Pollen Birdsong
the depth and breadth of their lazy
Illuminations will determine
how it comes-out in 
the end.

Reading this poem, I found myself wanting to relax and luxuriate in the presence of wild nature, but unable to do quite so, fearing for the safety of the deer! I'm not sure this was an intended insinuation, Juris, but it created an interesting psychological effect for me, certainly worthy of poetic exploration.

Incidentally, I'm happy to say I had the privilege of attending a lecture by Snyder some years ago at the Freer Sackler Gallery--he even signed my program. 🙂

Wow AB! Cool! I've seen a few poets over the years- alas Snyder eluded  me;-) Thanks all for the comments and well, no deer was harmed in the making of this poem;-) (The time in quarantine has gotten strange (r) 😉
