rhymeguy
From my meager archives. I leave this at your ear for when you awaken alone in the silence the gentle lullaby will comfort you. I leave this at your hand for when you awaken alone in the darkness your touch alone will dispel the shadows. I leave this at your side that when you awaken you will not be alone. It shall be your guide from the other side. For where I go now you cannot follow, not today, not just now. So I leave this with you for when you awaken. tonyv
At first, the poem comes across as kindly and gentle, Rhymeguy. However, upon reading further (and again), it becomes evident that there's something darker, almost sinister, at work below the surface. That feature reminds me of some of Frost's work. You also use an appropriate amount of repetition -- not too much, not too little, just enough. rhymeguy
My apologies to Badge and dr_con for putting you through this work again :). I really appreciate your kind comments and am glad that you both found it worth reading again. Tony, Thanks for your thoughtful comments. I am honored that you studied this little peice deeply enough to find layers therein. I am always gratified and suprised when someone thinks I get it right. rg
