Sitting Under My Flowering Pear

Sitting Under My Flowering Pear

The gilded banter quickens
with each gust of wind.
Speaking all at the same time,
the restless leaves’ chatter rises
and falls riding the wings of the zephyr,
scents of sage, apple,
and honeysuckle hitch on board.
The glitter of the golden sun peeks
through the lacy canopy to eavesdrop
while I let the lyrics wash over me.

Love that notion Judi and the whimsy of eavesdrop. A poem to luxuriate.

This is a perfect poem, Judi. The "restless" leaves chatter, and they speak "all at the same time," but it's not cacophony. It's as if they're speaking in unison. I loved it.

Hi Tink, nothing to add to what has been said above.  A multi-sensory experience.

Thank You,

It is the wonder of creativity when we can turn what would have been a passing moment into a poem. The chatter, hitching on board, and the eavesdropping.
