JoelJosol
Your quiet sheets are lies so is your sweet scent of fabric and the once moonlit frame now hides the violence of lovers punishing the wood and fabric with thrusts and cries. For how long can you endure the absence of tranquility so frequently visited, while every night the moon light shines on lovers who struggle to keep the interlock of bodies held in you? The headboard often rammed by two physical bodies colliding, your legs might soon give way to the truth. 1 Quote "Words are not things, and yet they are not non-things either." - Ann Lauterbach
tonyv
Joel, this is one of your best works. What I love most about this poem is its intensity. Awesome work! JoelJosol
Thanks for the appreciation, Tony. I tried to simulate the Neruda ode in my work. 1 Quote "Words are not things, and yet they are not non-things either." - Ann Lauterbach
David W. Parsley
Joel, this piece does indeed share a quality of intensity and open wonder that runs through the odes of Neruda, an articulation of romantically sexual passion as ancient as Solomon and Sappho and as fresh as last night's harvest moon. Love the blend of tenderness and uniting "violence" that the furnishings are called upon to hold and bless, while acknowledging a deeper progression from our common untruths to something more true that we hope will be beautiful and full, rather than devastating and more absent than ever. Lovely. Thanks (not I think - just thanks!), - Dave
JoelJosol
Thanks David. I am glad that it echoed the spirit of Neruda's poetry. Quote "Words are not things, and yet they are not non-things either." - Ann Lauterbach
