The moon an artist
Painting a lighthouse. Plants
Measure darkness as
They sketch their self portraits
Into the Moon's canvas they see radiances
Of blue, red for flowering,
Photoreceptors biographers
In houses of light.
Winds are like hours
Seeking an identity, plant
Listens to autumn in
Her distant watchtower
Who in return listens
To the circadian clock.
Frost famished winter
Eyes a ladybird that
Is like an angel who
Has missed closing
Of heaven's gate,
Raindrops falling from
Leaves are like keys.

Barry, I like the night moods evoked. I would suggest that the plans are not mere biographers, they're autobiographers! The last seven lines are especially atmospheric.

Hi Barry, I too enjoyed the atmosphere of the piece.  I think it would read with more urgency by converting one or two of the similes into pure metaphors or even personifications.

Nice,
