View From My Bedroom Window

Growing up I would lie on my bed
at night looking out on the city
across the bay. The lights changed
reflecting its mood, tugging at mine.
The bay could splash in chaos
or be as still and slick as glass.
Dreams formed, mushrooming
from the blue stillness just for me.
