Ra sun God

incantation

Recommended Posts

Lightning is a museum for ceremonies.
Sun god's failing incantations.
Perfected reflections in the moon's eye.
Deserts self portrait in a storm.
An incarnation inviting forms.
Winds cannot catch
Thunder formed out of
Sand. A God catches
The moon as
The sun falls through his
Hands, balanced on
The tip of lightning reflected.
Ra's dancing shadow spreads.
He summons his falcons
The four seasons, Huy
And Amun Puy are led to
The ceremony of worship
Of their God bearing the
Solar disc. Fire
Floated on wings.

What a tribute.  Ancient man's attempt to grasp the concept of a single all-mighty being.   Ra, the sun god.  The ancient Egyptians' effort to recognize and worship a single entity.  This is really well written.
