It was created by Michael Walker. As you may have guessed from the name the form is mono-rhymed and written in tetrameter. The defining features of the Monotetra are: stanzaic, written in any number of quatrains. metric, iambic tetrameter. rhymed, each stanza is mono rhymed aaa(A/A) bbb(B/B) ccc(C/C) etc. L4 is composed with a dimeter refrain that is repeated within the line, like an echo.
