Tinker Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Absence No blue ink stains on my fingers but the yearning that still lingers. It’s been too long since I’ve wondered too many days since I’ve hungered. Today I’ll write a simple rhyme, get back my groove and then in time I’ll dig a way inside of me to find a poem, set it free... ---Judi Van Gorder Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
badger11 Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Only a seemingly simple play with rhyme. It has that polished Tinker craft: clarity and insight. Writing is to be found in the writing. Thank you for sharing Tink and many thanks for that link on Welsh forms. I've missed your writing badge Quote
Larsen M. Callirhoe Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 what is not to marvel about your write. it is a fun jingle with grammar influences attached everywhere. enjoyed the read tinker. victor Quote Larsen M. Callirhoe
David W. Parsley Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Hi Judy, so good to see you back, "tinkering" with seldom used forms. I particularly liked the feminine slant-rhyme couplet, wondered-hungered. And the notion of poems being discovered, examined, worked, and released is one with which I resonate very well. - Dave Quote
Frank E Gibbard Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Sure you never lost your groove but had many other duties calling Tink. Neat little personal reflection. Frank Quote
Tinker Posted July 8, 2012 Author Posted July 8, 2012 Thanks Badge, I've missed sharing here. Yep, you said it very well "writing is to be found in the writing". If I only had the discipline. Hi Victor, Glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate your kind words. Hi Dave, Sometimes words just happen on the page and it works, wondered / hungered was one of those times. I love the ancient, often obscure forms. They are the fundamentals of writing, it is where literature began. So much can be learned from the study. Hi Frank, I never want to be so busy as to neglect friends but sometimes life just gets in the way and time passes. And when I stop writing it is hard to start back up again. So I guess the solution is to not stop writing... But there goes that discipline thing... ~~smile~~ Thank you all for the encouragement and support of my writing however so simple. ~~ Tink / Judi Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
dedalus Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Sweet and gentle, Tink. See my other comment at Connections, no need to repeat it here. Quote Drown your sorrows in drink, by all means, but the real sorrows can swim

tonyv Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Oh, how nice, Tinker. Well composed and inspiring, too! I can relate, and now I just have to muster up the courage also to do what you've said you will do. Tony Quote Here is a link to an index of my works on this site: tonyv's Member Archive topic
Tinker Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 LOL, Thank you Tony but if you haven't noticed, I have haven't come up with anything new since this piece YET. What happened did break a leg and have to sit still for a whole day giving you nothing to do but to read and respond to all of these poems? Wow, marathon read/response day! ~~Tink Quote ~~ © ~~ Poems by Judi Van Gorder ~~ For permission to use this work you can write to Tinker1111@icloud.com
