It is named for its originator Geoffrey Chaucer who has been said to write his Knight's tale in the roundel, the rondel and the rondeau (take your pick). This verse form was found at Vol Central The elements of the Chaucerian Roundel are: a decastich, made up of 2 tercets followed by a quatrain. written in no particular line length or meter although the form is often written in lines of equal length. Iambic tetrameter or pentameter lines are common. rhymed Abb abA abbA , the A is a refrain. composed with a refrain; L1 is repeated as a refrain in L6 and L10.
