I Choose my Own Fate

I used to hear, What is your sign?, all of the time.
Planning your day by the moon and the stars is fine
if you believe. I won't wait for stars to align,
I prefer the view displayed in sparkle and shine.

Never took much stock in Astrological signs,
painted cards predicting my fate repel my mind.

I've only seen sinister Tarot on TV.
OMG a hanging man is the card I see,
the scary death card foretelling a killing spree.
I'm sure there is more, I just know it's not for me

Never took much stock in Astrological signs
painted cards predicting my fate repel my mind.

I'm told I'm an Aries, I don't buy into it.
I can play into some strengths assigned then I split,
I can not ignore that others simply don't fit,
and playing cards won't decide my fate, not a bit.

Never took much stock in Astrological signs
painted cards predicting my fate repel my mind.

Nice Judi! I'm of a very opposite but similar camp, since I know so many excellent astrologers I often ask -- Why would I want to know? 😉 Sorry, on over whelm so am behind in my comments

Thanks Juris,  I was hoping I wouldn't offend anyone.   Most people dabble a little and some live their life by the stars, especially up here in Hippyville.  I don't care either way.  But I think I was really turned off when my son was in a new parent-cooperative preschool.  He was 2 1/2 and at  the first meeting of the parents, one parent chimed up and wanted us to go around the room and identify our child by their "sign"  so we all would know how best to work with each child based on that information.  I can't express how my mother instincts went into protective mode.  I did not want my child judged by his astrological sign before the parents even met him.  It caused a big commotion in the meeting when I immediately objected.  I might have gone into attack mode.  I was definitely on the underdog side of the battle but I won.  That parent hasn't liked me since.
