Thank you! I can see that this site is really helpful in straightening out all the rules and fine points of writing form poems!

Well, we have a comprehensive REFERENCE SECTION which Tinker has meticulously compiled.

My life is a beach

Down here l relish sweet peace

As the tide rolls in.

As the tide rolls in --
will there be a tidal wave? --
a gentle undertow.

What a delightful poem, Tink! Ah for the days when "we" were children, and Santa came to "our" house! I have one!

I remember a long, long time ago when I was questioning what I truly believed, it occurred to me that it was a lot better to believe in a loving God than in nothing at all.  I chose to be loved.   Atheism has never made sense to me, why choose "nothing" over "love"? And if I'm wrong, the worse thing that could happen is I lived in grace created by my own belief. If I'm right I get the bonus of heaven.  It's a win/win.

Merry Christmas!

I love your philosophy. And then why take a chance (or) what is there to lose!

l was not a believer, but l had proof. And also "before" l believed, the bible did not seem to make sense, but after, it did!

Yes Judi, have thought about you. I read that one of the fires is Rhode Island sized, as big as my entire state! 😮

I like messing around with forms. I came up with the absurd idea of an Hieroglyphic Haiku. It's not great, but yay for pushing the medium?

Hi Mike, interesting concept and I love the images and humor in the "translation".   Just a note, here on the forum haiku train, the idea is to use the last line of the previous haiku posted as your first line.  It sort of makes a chain from poet to poet.  I feel lucky to have been fed that last great line from your haiku for my first line.
